What is an Enterprise Cloud?
An Enterprise Cloud is an enterprise-class computing platform that gives organizations the power to host business-critical applications from a dynamic pool of processing, storage and network resources. An Enterprise Cloud is fully managed by Carbon60 and delivered to the customer as IT-as-a-service. Carbon60′s Enterprise Clouds are deployed in a world-class data center and the enterprise’s WAN is extended to include the Cloud. Carbon60 manages these WAN links to provide an industry-best, end-to-end Service Level Guarantee to its enterprise cloud customers.
What can I run on an Enterprise Cloud?
You can run virtually any Windows or Linux-based business application or website on a C60 Enterprise Cloud — just as you could on a traditional IT infrastructure. Our customers are running everything from business-critical Microsoft SQL databases to e-commerce websites on their C60 Enterprise Clouds. They are also used extensively for software development and testing and for disaster recovery purposes.
What kind of technical support do I get with an Enterprise Cloud?
Carbon60 has both fully-managed and self-managed technical support options to choose from. Most customers use Carbon60 to fully manage the delivery as their business-critical applications but self-manage less-critical workloads such as development or test environments. Carbon60 provides general usability and “how-to” support Monday to Friday from 7am to 7pm Eastern Time. Support for any type of service impacting incident is available 24x7x365.
Can I connect physical servers to my C60 Enterprise Cloud?
Yes. Carbon60 supports hybrid environments which combine physical servers and virtual servers. By plugging the physical server into our Enterprise Cloud’s network fabric it becomes part of your larger resource pool and can be managed using the same web-based interface.
What is the maximum virtual machines size I can run?
The maximum size of a single virtual machine is currently 12 CPU cores and 196GB of Memory. Storage can potentially be scaled up to a 100+TB. A 40 Gbps Fibre Channel and Ethernet over InfiniBand fabric between host servers eliminates bottlenecks and maximizes network performance to support faster virtual machine to virtual machines data transfers, faster virtual machines migrations, and faster backups.
How many virtual machines can I run?
Carbon60′s Enterprise Cloud is engineered to scale seamlessly to handle massive workloads. Additional processing, storage and network resources can be added on demand to support thousands of virtual machines.
Can I use my own operating system licenses?
No. Carbon60′s datacenter-level licencing agreement covers the operating system licences hosted on a Enterprise Cloud.
How are corporate Active Directory services handled within an Enterprise Cloud?
As part of its Enterprise Cloud service, Carbon60 includes a fully managed, geographically distributed Active Directory service. You can use this service to deliver single or dual-factor authentication services to your end-users accessing corporate IT resources, including those on your C60 Enterprise Cloud.
