Operational Notes:
- By default, every web site hosted on Carbon60’s production WordPress platform is load balanced between a minimum of two “instances” in its cloud computing architecture. Each “instance” is a virtual machine hosted on different physical noted in the cluster to provide high availability for each web site. Additional “instances” can be created on-demand to ensure target latency and load times.
- High performance caching services further accelerate web site performance by offloading pages and content to superfast cache servers running.
- Global Caching Service is an add-on to the base WordPress production platform. This service is highly recommended for further accelerating the performance and reliability of high demand sites and/or to sites with a global audience. This service uses globally distributed caching servers to dramatically reduce latency and load times for end users in different parts of the world.
- Global Security Service is a proxy system that works with the Global Caching Service to fully mask the origin servers from public view and shield them from DoS and other network-based attacks.
- Geographical Redundancy is a service that provides disaster recovery on top of Carbon60’s already highly availability platform. This works with the Global Caching Service to direct traffic to a secondary origin site which hosts data asynchronously replicated from your primary origin site.
