Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Manager of AP and Expenses is an integral member of the Finance team, working collaboratively to ensure all financial accountabilities are delivered on time and accurately. The ideal candidate brings a solid financial foundation and is excited by the opportunity to scale the function with the growth of the company. Your focus will be to: Hire, train, motivate, and evaluate accounts payable/expense staff members. Own and manage all requirements for full cycle accounts payable, expenses, banking and related reconciliations. Manage expense reimbursement information and systems, process employee reimbursements, process tax remittances. Be the key finance contact with external vendors. Partner with the Operations, Engineering, HR and Technology departments to provide support on expense management and forecasting. Own and manage forecasts for all AP and expenses. Assist the Director of Finance and CFO in recommending, negotiating and managing terms (e.g. DPO) with new and existing vendors. Take ownership of administering all capital leases, terms, payments and related accounting requirements. Work with HR and ADP for the payroll process. Month-End: Assist the controller and partner with the Revenue Manager in managing the month-end process including ensuring all controls for each period are complete and financial statements are issued in a timely manner. Perform regular analysis and make recommendations on expense optimization. Own the AP / expenses section of the regular monthly management reporting package including the drafting of analysis on variances and cost drivers, commentary and recommendations. Assist the Controller/Director of Finance in preparing quarterly board reports and year end reporting. Contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the financial operations of the company. Assist with special projects as required by the Director of Finance or CFO. What you Bring A degree in Business Administration or Finance. Actively working towards CPA, CA/CMA/CGA designation(s). Comfortable building relationships with leaders and departments outside of finance. Minimum of 4 to 6 years of practical experience with exposure leading 2 fiscal years of full-cycle accounting. Experience with capital lease accounting and banking covenant calculations and compliance Previous experience managing payroll for SMB organizations and hands on experience using payroll systems. Advanced skillsets in Excel (e.g. pivot tables, vlook up, etc.) Hands on experience utilizing and maintaining accounting systems (Netsuite is an asset) Experience working in SMB environments where processes and structure are developing. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent communication and analysis of information are critical characteristics. Industry knowledge would be a significant asset.
